Prize Money in Indian Premier League 2010 (IPL)

IPL - Indian Premier League, the other name of shower of money in the game of cricket for everyone. The beneficiary will not not only BCCI but players all around the world.

The overall prize money will be around Rs. 20 crore (US $5 million), with the winners taking home Rs. 8 crore ( US $2 million).

The remaining money will be up for grabs in different forms, like man of the match awards and cash prizes. By contrast, the winners of the 2007 ICC World Cup in the Caribbean took home Rs. 4 crore (US $1 million). The Indian team that won the World Twenty20 got half of that.

TV rights have already gone for over US $1 billion. Franchisees have already committed close to US $723 million. Top players are expected to earn minimum Rs. 4-6 crores per season.
