Chris Gayle isn't the only reason why Indians are worried!!

LORD'S (London): India return to London after their successful campaign in Trent Bridge and have braced themselves for a new challenge altogether in the ICC World Twenty20 from now on.

The defending champions would play 2 of their 3 Super Eight games in London but the testier one comes on Friday when they take the field against Chris Gayle's West Indians.

Gayle himself is a match-winner par excellence, as Australia would testify. The laconic West Indian captain has the ability to keep producing booming shots till the opposition is well and truly buried. He presently has the highest score in the tournament and is the only one to have hit a century in Twenty20 internationals so he would take some stopping.

But West Indies is just not Gayle only. It has a succession of impressive strikers of white ball and the names of Xavier Marshall, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Andre Fletcher, Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard and wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin come readily to mind. And lest you forget, the sticky presence at the crease in Shivnarine Chanderpaul can make a bowling unit break into a sweat.

This batting powerhouse is perfectly suited to keep coming at teams in a short format such as Twenty20 is. This is the format to take care of their inconsistencies. The side also professes its' love for Twenty20 format as it gives them the tingling taste of success. The West Indians back themselves in this format and importantly, they know they are good.

The bowling attack is largely in the hands of Fidel Edwards and Jerome Taylor, both formidable young fast bowlers, who offer variety and pose different challenges to the batsmen. The back-up bowlers of Lionel Baker, Dwayne Bravo and Darren Sammy aren't that exciting but the heavy artillery upfront can make their task an easier one.

India are pleased that openers Gautam Gambhir and Rohit Sharma are value-ing their wicket and it promises good things from them on Friday. The rest of the line-up is perfectly aware of its roles as well as the pitfalls which lie in departing from the scripted jobs. There are crease occupiers in Gambhir and Dhoni and then dashers in Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, Yusuf Pathan and Irfan Pathan down the order.
